What are Individualised Living Options?

ILOs are an NDIS funding category designed to give participants more choice, control and flexibility in how they live and receive support - with a focus on independence and living within the community in line with personal goals and aspirations.

How ILOs work

1

Exploration & design (Stage 1)

Work with a support coordinator to explore housing options and design tailored support arrangements; the NDIS funds this exploratory stage.

2

Implementation (Stage 2)

Choose your living situation - living independently, shared living with housemates, or host family arrangements - and finalise a tailored support plan.

Key benefits

  • Choice and control over where and who you live with
  • Increased independence and skill development
  • Community integration and a sense of belonging
  • Flexibility as your needs evolve
